Recap
Eldon had the following to say about his first
appearance at Powell's:
"What a terrific store! Noticeably nicer digs
than those of the old Beaverton location. Who needs nostalgia,
anyway?
Real quick, I have to thank all the friends and
family who made the trek out to see me. Some, such as Alethia,
Betty, Troy, Darcie (who reminded me that I still owe her a dance),
and Kristina (who thinks I don't remember her from college), I
hadn't seen in years. Others, I got to meet for the first time, such
as Adrienne, Troy's children, and Miah—who
suffered through a 90-minute bus adventure just to say hello
(thanks for the CDs, my man!). Of course, I can't neglect to
mention the usual suspects: Damian, who drove me all over creation,
Crissy, who is always kinder to me than I deserve (particularly on
this night), and my mother, who is always so proud of all her
children.
I also enjoyed meeting all the other authors in
attendance, and have to thank John, Lea, and Peter for putting
together this experimental event. Hopefully, there will be more like
it in the future."
