FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6
2:00 - 3:50 PM
Room 707
Page One
In
today's fast-food, blue-tooth, video-on-demand world, readers are
less patient than ever. If you can't hook them with the very first
page of your manuscript, there's a good chance they won't make it to
page two. Come practice the tips and tricks for making the first
page of your story sizzle.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7
3:30 - 4:20 PM
Room 703
Screenplay Structure
To
write for Hollywood, it is imperative to understand traditional
story structure. It's a restrictive writing form, and even if you
mean to break the rules, you'd better be able to explain where and
why you did so. On the bright side, knowing this structure can
actually be a great help to writers in outlining their stories. If
you intend to write a feature-length screenplay, or have ever had
difficulty plotting your novel, come learn the basic blueprint for
maximizing your story's emotional impact.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7
